Houdini's Great Escape

Ben wakes up in an excellent mood, as usual. But he does NOT want help getting out of his crib!
He has learned how to get out all on is own. He is able to do it with the side up, but I'm always afraid he might lose his grip and fall, so I lower the side to help him out a bit.
Two legs over....
And he's out!

Gon' Fishin'

Chris got it in his head this weekend that he wanted to teach the kids to fish, so after an expedition to Target to pick out poles (Disney Princess for Kate, Diego for Ben) and another 30 minutes tying hooks and bobbers and who knows what else, we headed to the pond across the street to cast our lines. Sadly, Ben was more interested in throwing things in the water and stumbling along the side of the pond (scaring his mother senseless!) and Katie was more excited about the presence of the neighbors cat. Fishing was short-lived.

Snack time!

We all headed out to the soccer field for the last game of the season. The kids spent most of the time eating snacks (thankfully!) We have lots of soccer pictures from the season, but they are all loaded on the laptop and I have no idea how to get them onto this computer so I can post them. Perhaps my husband will help....

TPC weekend

As per tradition, our "gang" headed to Ruth's Chris steak house for dinner on Friday of TPC weekend. Pictured above are Cara and Greg (newly engaged!), Jill, Jeff, Scott & Messina.
Our table included Buster and Beverly, Lizzy (expecting in November!!), Krista, Geiger and Chris.
Best buds, Chris and Geiger.

Another Disney weekend

In early May, we headed to Orlando for another quick trip to Disney. We did Magic Kingdom the first day (Tyler did Epcot solo) and then we all did Disney's Hollywood Studios (what they used to call MGM) the second day. Katie wore her Cinderella costume almost the entire day at MK--but gets VERY irritated if someone "thinks she's really a Disney character"--her words, not mine.

Cool Kids

On a weekend visit to Gran-gran and Papa's house, the kids took a break from the spring sun with a splash in the pool. At this point, the "big" pool was still on the chilly side, but the baby pool is just perfect most days. I'm seriously thinking of joining them.

Flea Bags

We suddenly find ourselves with a flea problem and in a fit of disgust, I sent the cat to be shaved and bathed and dipped at the vet. $150 later, she returned looking like she spent a month at a concentration camp. Her fur has started to grow in a little, and sadly, we're still not totally rid of the fleas. We've done flea powder, bug bombs, and borax on the carpet to no avail. They keep taking up camp on the cat. We do flea treatments on her, but they don't seem to be working. Anyone want a free cat (along with her flea circus??)
